Baked-Turkey-Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1# ground turkey
  • 4-6 scallions, chopped
  • 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2T sesame oil
  • 2T soy sauce
  • Ground pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • ½ c dark brown sugar (or less)
  • ½ c soy sauce
  • ½ c mirin rice wine
  • ¼ c ginger, chopped
  • 1t ground coriander
  • 4 peppercorns, whole

Method

  • Make meatballs by combining first 7 ingredients. Shape into balls with scoop.

  • Fry, without crowding, in oil on stove top. Alternatively, you can bake in oven at 375F until browned and cooked through.

  • For sauce, combine ingredients from brown sugar to peppercorns in sauce pan and simmer until sugar dissolves and sauce is warmed through.
